My Life Lessons
The first moment I became aware of financial difference was in elementary school in my hometown of Hazlehurst, Georgia. My Girl Scout troop spent the night with a family that had significant means. This one night taught me that money makes a difference and it motivated me to want more.
Soon after, my Mom joined the Navy and my family traveled all over the world, including Japan and New Zealand. My entire perspective on life expanded! Everywhere we went, I realized it took planning, resources and money. I will always be thankful to my Mom for these experiences.
