Edward Jones Surpasses Financial Fitness Goal, Reaching 1 Million Learners a Year Ahead of Schedule
News release | Feb. 5, 2025
The financial services firm, alongside EVERFI, celebrates the milestone by announcing a national scholarship program.
St. Louis, MO (Feb. 5, 2025) - Edward Jones has achieved a remarkable milestone, reaching 1 million learners through its Financial Fitness program in strategic partnership with EVERFI, a goal originally set by the firm to meet by the end of 2025. In celebration of this, Edward Jones and EVERFI have launched a national scholarship, available to any high school student who has completed the Marketplaces: Investing Basics course. The contest will run January 15 through March 15, 2025 and award five students with a scholarship in the amount of $5,000.
“Financial literacy is the cornerstone of making informed life decisions and achieving long-term success,” said Penny Pennington, Managing Partner of Edward Jones. “Through our collaboration with EVERFI, we are empowering both young and adult learners to build their financial confidence and take meaningful steps towards a secure and prosperous future.”
Edward Jones’ Financial Fitness program, introduced in 2020, offers free education on budgeting, debt management, investing and retirement planning. In addition to its comprehensive digital education platform designed by EVERFI, Edward Jones provides seminars for communities, employers and employees, as well as teacher-led in-school curriculum for high school students.
The program reflects Edward Jones’ legacy of advancing financial education, championed by former Managing Partner John Bachmann.
To further commemorate the 1 million learners milestone, Edward Jones and EVERFI will host a special celebration at Nashville School of the Arts on February 5 to highlight the critical role of financial education in building a foundation for future success while reaffirming Edward Jones’ ongoing commitment to providing learners of all ages with essential financial skills.
The in-person celebration will feature engaging activities for students that highlight financial concepts from the course and the opportunity to hear from leaders at Edward Jones about how financial education supports both individual and community well-being. One local student will also be awarded a $5,000 scholarship, selected based on a short essay submission, to support their educational and financial goals.
