I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, the daughter of West Virginia University quarterback and hall-of-fame gymnast Mike and Shari Timko. I am the granddaughter of 1959 NCAA Basketball Tournament Runner-up Ronnie Retton, who co-captained the WVU Mountaineer team alongside the notorious Jerry West. I am also the proud niece of 1984 Olympic champion Mary Lou Retton.
