I was born and raised in the Illinois Valley. I graduated from LaSalle-Peru Township High School and hold a degree in agribusiness from Illinois State University.

I live in Peru with my son, Landon. We like to stay active by riding our bikes or getting out for a run. I am a past president of the Peru Citizen's Service Organization, an active member of the Peru Rotary, a member of the City of Peru Parks and Recreation board and I am also active with the Red Cross.
