About Gene

I grew up in Clark, South Dakota, and graduated in 1981. I attended Northern State University where I received both my bachelor's degree in education ('85) and a master's degree for teaching ('86) as well.

I was a teacher/coach in Hecla, SD, for one year before moving on to Madison, SD, where I taught computer courses and coached basketball and golf. While teaching at Madison, I attended SDSU and completed a Master of Education in Administration ('99) and went on to serve as a principal in Clark and Winner, SD, before joining Edward Jones in 2002.
