I had the good fortune to grow up in Sterling, CO. During the summers, I spent my time on a tractor or combine on my dad's dry land wheat farm, and in winters, I attended school. I graduated from Sterling High School in 1972, from Northeastern Junior College in 1974 and from the University of Northern Colorado, in Greeley, in 1976.
