Katherine Tierney is the Senior Retirement Strategist on the Client Needs Research team at Edward Jones. The Client Needs Research team develops and communicates advice and guidance for client needs, including retirement, education, preparing for the unexpected and leaving a legacy. Katherine is also a member of the Investment Policy Committee's (IPC) Client Needs Working Group ("CNWG"), which provides oversight of IPC financial advice and guidance for the U.S.
Katherine has nearly 20 years of financial services and retirement experience. Prior to her current role, Katherine served in a variety of roles at Edward Jones, including Senior IRA Product Leader, digital product manager of the firm's goals-based planning system, and leader of the managed investments team in Product Review. Prior roles outside of Edward Jones include equity research at A.G. Edwards.
Katherine graduated magna cum laude from Saint Louis University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with an emphasis in finance. She earned her Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2008 and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of St. Louis. She earned her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2022.
Katherine is a contributor to Edward Jones Perspectives and has been quoted in various publications.
Katherine and her husband, Jeff, have two children: Aiden and Jaxon.
