My mom was budgeting. As a young kid, I frequently noticed that my mother was regularly writing numbers on notebook paper. This woman could (and still can) squeeze the head off a penny.

This scene was my introduction to personal finance. It's a core memory that motivates me to care deeply about financial literacy for all.
