2023 in review

In 2022, we conducted an assessment with our critical internal and external stakeholder groups, including clients, advisors, branch associates, other community members and organizations, suppliers and product partners, as well as regulatory advisors. Our stakeholders' feedback provided us with a set of prioritized focus areas to guide decision-making on strategic objectives, risk management and resource allocations. This page highlights our efforts in the area of Advancing Inclusive Growth.

With changing demographics and a massive wealth transfer underway, there is an urgency to provide more personalized service to current and future clients who expect more inclusive experiences and cross-cultural understanding.

DEI365

Programs like our DEI 365 events, Courageous Conversations, and annual Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Conference helped our colleagues share their authentic stories and exhibit more empathy and compassion toward our clients and colleagues during challenging times.

Business Resource Groups

Our 12 Business Resource Groups are firm-sponsored, associate-led affinity groups that contribute to our DEI objectives and create a space to celebrate shared passions and cultures.

Leadership book club

Financial Advisor Tondeleo Day, Atlanta, GA, leads The Wealth and Diversity Book Club, hosting dozens of attendees from across their region to connect and discuss leadership lessons. The October meeting discussed The Wisdom of the Bullfrog: Leadership Made Simple (But Not Easy) written by William McRaven. The evening created a renewed commitment to put the insights learned from one another and the book into action.

Mental health first

Maya Lunnemann, Director of DEI, served as a panelist at the Reuters Workforce Health USA Conference. The session, titled “Put Mental Health First — Creating a Workplace Where Employees Can Thrive” focused on building a workplace culture that empowers employees to reach their full potential, and how to equip people with the tools and resources to support mental health.

Listening in action

Home office principals and associates joined more than two dozen branch team members from New York's Tri-state Area for an impactful Influencer Listening Post with Jennifer Kingston. Following the dialogue, participants hosted a recruitment reception for a group of prospective candidates with an intentional focus on educating women and people of color attendees about delivering the Edward Jones client experience.
