Different Ways to Present a Seminar
Different Ways to Present a Seminar
Use a Thumbnail Drive and Projector (Use JPG File)
You may use a projector that has a USB port to display JPG file. To do this:
- Download the ZIP JPG file to a non-Edward Jones computer
- UnZIP the file using ZIP utility software. Read our FAQs for more information.
- Save the entire folder containing seminar slide JPGs to a USB thumbdrive (with available space)
- Insert USB thumbdrive into the projector's USB port. Please note, Edward Jones branch computers do not provide access to USB ports.
- Follow projector manufacturer instructions for displaying the presentation using JPEGs
To use this option, you will need to use a non-Edward Jones computer with internet access to download/save seminar files to a USB drve.
Note: Edward Jones branch computers are not able to use USB thumbdrives. Most Edward Jones projectors do have a working USB port.
Use a PC computer and a Projector (Use PDF File)
You may use a non-Edward Jones PC and a projector to display the PDF file outside of your branch office. For the PDF to work properly, the non-Edward Jones computer must have PDF viewing software such as Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader. If the non-Edward Jones computer does not have a PDF viewer, download the PC version of Adobe Reader for free on the Adobe website.
To show an Adobe PDF seminar as a slide show follow these instructions:
- Right mouse click on the PDF file for your selected seminar
- Choose "Save Target As...". Be sure to save the seminar file in a directory or folder where you can easily find it later
- Open the PDF file using Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Select View on the toolbar
- Select Full Screen View on the drop down menu or click "Ctrl + L"
- Move through the presentation by using the up and down arrow keys on your keyboard or the Page Up and Page Down keys.
- Close the presentation by pressing the Esc key on your keyboard
Save a Seminar to a CD or DVD (Use PDF File)
To save to CD or DVD, your computer must have the following:
- A CD or DVD drive that is capable of writing (or burning) data to a CD or DVD. Please note, Edward Jones branch computers can not write files to CDs or DVDs.
- A software program that can write the data to the disc. This software frequently comes with the drive.
- There are many different drives and formats available, so we suggest following the instructions provided by the software program on how to create a CD.
